DOMESTIC - AUSTRALIAN HOLIDAY

Your holiday is almost here, and we want your getaway to begin the moment you close your front door.

At Luxury Travel Planner, our goal is simple: to ensure you enjoy a seamless, relaxing, and beautifully stress‑free domestic escape.

To help you feel organised and confident before you travel, we’ve created a quick guide of essential reminders and helpful tips. It takes just five minutes to read and will make sure you’re perfectly prepared for your Luxury Travel Planner holiday. Follow the steps below and start your journey with complete peace of mind.

 🧳 Essential Things to Pack

  • Travel documents — Have you downloaded the Trip Plans app? Click here to do it now

  • Do you have travel insurance?? Even on a domestic trip, travel insurance can cover the expensive stuff you don’t want to pay for yourself—like last‑minute cancellation costs, lost/delayed baggage, rental car excess, and unexpected medical or dental bills away from home Click here to get your domestic Insurance policy now

  • Driver’s licence & credit card — a physical driver’s licence and a physical credit card in the main driver’s name are mandatory for all domestic car hire in Australia. Digital licences and digital wallets are not accepted by rental depots.

  • Medication & health items — prescriptions, pain relief, motion sickness tablets, first‑aid basics.

  • Weather‑appropriate clothing — layers, rain jacket, swimwear, comfortable shoes.

  • Tech & chargers — phone charger, power bank, camera gear, headphones.

  • Toiletries — sunscreen, insect repellent, skincare, deodorant, toothbrush.

  • Reusable items — water bottle, shopping bag, coffee cup.

  • Kids’ essentials — snacks, entertainment, comfort items, spare clothes.

  • Do you have enough luggage allowance?

  • Most domestic fares include 23kg checked baggage per person, but some tickets are carry-on only with a 7kg maximum.
Business Class usually includes extra checked baggage, but carry-on limits are typically the same.
If you think you’ll need more, contact Luxury Travel Planner before you travel — pre-purchasing extra baggage in advance is usually the easiest way to avoid higher airport fees.

🏡 Things to Do Before Leaving Home

  • Secure the house — lock all doors/windows, set alarms, close blinds, turn off appliances.

  • Bills & deliveries — pause mail, redirect parcels, pay upcoming bills.

  • Fridge & rubbish — empty perishables, take out bins, run the dishwasher.

  • Pets & plants — confirm pet‑sitting, top up food/water, arrange plant watering.

  • Energy-saving steps — unplug electronics, adjust air‑con/heating.

  • Share your itinerary — give a trusted person your travel dates and emergency contacts.

  • Transport check — confirm your airport/train times, and book parking or a rideshare in advance.
If you’d like to arrive in true comfort, Luxury Travel Planner can also arrange a private car to the airport with Blacklane chauffeur (limo) transfers — please note bookings must be made at least 24 hours before departure contact your Luxury Travel Planner to make a booking for you today.
